He is survived by: his wife Sharon Galentine Adkins; his children, Manda "Mandie" Coovert (Mike) and Luke Adkins (Tondra); his grandchildren, Michaela Derifield (Trevor), Cole Coovert (Bayley) and Wyatt Adkins; his great grandchild Westen Coovert; his mother Zona Adkins; his siblings, Alan Adkins (Linda), Linda Irwin (Mark) and Mike Adkins; and his siblings-in-law, Denise Greer (Tom) and Del Galentine (Brenda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Ron's memory to Hilliard Weaver Middle School, a place that held such a meaningful part of his life.
