He was predeceased by: his parents, William Emerson Taylor and Norma Jean (Dissinger); his brother Thomas Taylor; his in-laws, Clifford and Elizabeth Reuschlein; his sister-in-law Nancy Reuschlein; and his stepgrandson Viktor Krainev.

He is survived by: his wife Catherine; his children, Leslie Bass (Aaron) of Powell and Jon Taylor of Reynoldsburg; his grandsons, Alexander Bass of Denver, CO and Michael Bass (Cristina) of Delaware; his sister Marilyn Caughenbaugh (Tim) of Fort Myers, FL; his stepdaughter Lynn Mathewes of Greenville, SC; his stepgranddaughter Zhanna Krainev of Los Angeles, CA.; and his siblings-in-law, Carole, Connie, Tom and Randy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
