He is survived by : his spouse Christie Purdin; his children, Anna May Vilvens (Richard) of Lynchburg, Charles Purdin (Glenna) of Hillsboro, Betty Mootz of Lynchburg, Victor Purdin of Martinsville, Kelly Nicol of Chillicothe, Kyle Purdin (Lisa) of Hillsboro and Marion Purdin (Kara) of Hillsboro; and his siblings, Ronnie Purdin (Leona) of Surgartree Ridge, David Purdin (Pat) of Hillsboro, Ray "Butch" Purdin, Jr. (Wilma) of Hillsboro, Ramona Eaglin (Bill) of Florida, Bonnie Nace (Charles) of Surgartree Ridge and Mary Williams (David) of Florida. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
