He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J. Soldano Sr. and Shirley A. Soldano (Light); his wife Linda Soldano; and his brother Joseph J. Soldano, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Brandy Pitzer (Vince) of Lynchburg and Becky McConnaughey (Chad) of Lynchburg; his stepsons, Jason Porter (April) of Peebles and Jared "Jed" Porter (Michele) of Peebles; his grandchildren, Drew Pitzer, Abby Pitzer, Trey Pitzer, Hayley McConnaughey, Ethan McConnaughey (Lindsey), Will McConnaughey, Tate McConnaughey, Tyler Porter (Madelyn), Jaiden Porter, Zane Porter and Celine Porter; his great grandchildren, Ezra and Booker; his sister Susan Lentz (John) of Hilton Head, S. C.; his nieces, Shawna, Erin and Samantha; and his nephew Joseph.
