He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Avans; his children, Emily Elyse Zhao (Jeremy) and Aaron Avans; his grandson Roland Zhao; his sister Debbie Gates (Steve); his mother-in-law Kitty Bentley; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Bentley, Deborah Alderman (Marty) and Bruce Bentley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
