He was predeceased by: his parents, Murven Shoemaker, and Hazel Shoemaker, Sr. (Smiley); and his sisters, Janet Wright, Doris Hoffman and Edith Shoemaker.
He is survived by: his sons, Jason Shoemaker (Kara) and Jody Shoemaker (Melissa); and his siblings, Richard Shoemaker (Marlene), Charles Shoemaker (Sharon), Murven Shoemaker (Loraine), Walter Shoemaker (Judy), Carolyn Beard (James) and Ruth Ann Vance (Debbie Coreno). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren.
