He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Hunter and Lucille Hunter; his sisters, Mary (Alfred Groves), Betty (Bill Smith), Barbara, June and Virginia; and his sister-in-law Sandy Hunter.
He is survived by: his wife Deloris "Dee" Hunter (Yates); his son John David Hunter Jr. (Misty Crothers) of Hillsboro, Ohio.; his grandchildren, Shelbi Skaggs (Aaron Skaggs) of Oak Ridge, Brandi Hunter (Jordan Smith) of Fort Mitchell and Makayla Osman (Cody) of West Union, Ohio.; his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Vivian Skaggs and Maelyn Osman; and his brothers, Larry Hunter (Patty), James "Jim" Hunter, Donald Hunter (Jenny) and Eddie Hunter (Karen).
