He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Karnes and Esther Karnes (Elfriede Karnes); and his son Stefan Karnes. He is survived by: his children, Jason Karnes (Cindy), Beate Biggers and Pennie Phillips (Jeff); his grandchildren, Brandi Karnes (Jamey Johnson), Haley Karnes, Christopher Karnes, Breanna Karnes, Madison Karnes, Nathan Biggers (Chelsea), Jennifer Waddell (William), Richard Phillips and Anthony Phillips; his great grandchildren, Anna Fleming, Ethan Fleming, Ty Johnson, Benjamin Waddell and Kaiden Waddell; his siblings, Tom Karnes and Janis Edwards (Dale); and his daughter-in-law Lisa Karnes.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
