He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Chaney and Roberta Chaney (Lucas); his significant other Melinda Partridge; his significant other's daughter Jennifer Partridge; and his brothers, Joseph Chaney and Ray D. Chaney.
He is survived by: his siblings, Meredith Chaney (Janet) of Hillsboro and Sarah Bales of Hillsboro; his sister-in-law Charlotte Chaney of Wilmington; his nieces and nephews, Keith Chaney (Jennifer), Tiffany Chaney, Shane Chaney, Robyn Gleadle (Mark), Cheryl Bucholtz (Mike) and Cathy Korponski (Scott); his great-nieces, Taylor Stewart (Justin), Ashley Halliday (Jacob) and Emily Collier (Eric); his great-nephew Colt Campbell (Carrie); and also, Beth Ann Partridge (Dan Pancake), Valerie Wise (Brook), Charles Wise and Claire Chaney Wise. He is also survived by great nieces and great nephews; as well as Melinda's children.
