With sadness, we share the passing of John Richard Pierson of Holland, Ohio. John, born on December 2, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio, passed away on August 25, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Richard Pierson to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard "Dick" Pierson and Rosemary Pierson; and his uncle William "Uncle Bill" Pierson. He is survived by: his wife Janice Pierson; his children, Chris Pierson, Sean Pierson and Kelly Pierson; and his siblings, Jim Pierson (Lori), Barb Mertes (Rick) and Mark Pierson (Lori). He is also survived by his nine nieces and nephews and their many children.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Reeb Funeral Home (5712 Main St, Sylvania, OH 43560). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St Joseph's Catholic Church (5373 Main St, Sylvania, OH 43560).
The family suggests that contributions be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation, as standard treatment for this disease has not meaningfully advanced in decades and research remains significantly underfunded.
