He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Shoemaker and Frances Shoemaker (Kujawski); his wife Jean M. Shoemaker (Knous); his siblings, Ronald Shoemaker, Carol Miller and Betty Jo Helminiak; and his grandchildren, Luke, Lance and Lily Shoemaker.

He is survived by: his children, Ricky Shoemaker (Carol), Roy Shoemaker (Kristy) and Debora Fawcett (Brian); his grandchildren, Shannon Aguilar (Anthony), Roy II Shoemaker (Julie), Brenden Fawcett, Kelsie Cummins (Kyle), Rikki Shoemaker, Mylah and Macy Shoemaker; his great grandchildren, Ramona, Eliana, Mateo Shoemaker, Harvey and Eloise Cummins; and his siblings, Judy Hall and Pat Rober.
