We bid farewell to Rita Morini Shaffer of Hudson, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 16, 2025 at the age of 88. Rita touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold DeTullio and Catherine Matthews; her husband Paul "Pete" Shaffer; her former husband Mario Morini; her grandson Jason Kardish; Jean Fondelier (Russ) and Marilyn Morini.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Kardish (Marty) of Hudson, Anthony Morini (Chris) of Ellwood City, PA, Michael Morini (Donna) of Strongsville and Paula Kowalczyk (Chris) of Collegeville, PA; her grandchildren, Kyle Kardish (Ashley), Austin Kardish (Kaylee), Isabella Morini Williams (Austin), Antonio Morini, Olivia, Sophia and Alex Kowalczyk; her great grandchildren, Mason, Maddie Jay, Kolton and Kolbie Jay Kardish; and her siblings, Ralph DeTullio (Dee) and Patty Pace (John).
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (340 N Main St, Hudson, OH 44236).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Rita's memory to St. Bernard's Hunger Ministry in care of St. Mary Catholic Church (check payable to St. Vincent de Paul) or the Akron Children's Museum (https://akronkids.org).
