Carol Kay (Smith) Mees Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Kay (Smith) Mees of Huron, Ohio, who passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Gladys Fay Smith; and her siblings, Jack, Bob, Don and Dessie.
She is survived by: her husband Thomas Mees; her children, Jackie Gereaux (John) of Huron and Steve Michel Sr. of Huron; her grandchildren, Steve Michel Jr., Sean Gereaux (Manie), Kayla Gereaux (Jordan McComb) and Rachel; her great grandchildren, Piper and Sophie; her brother Flay "Skeeter" Smith (Nila); and her sister-in-law Linda Smith. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory (1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870). A prayer will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (429 Central Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870).
