He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Zippay and Patricia; his brother Steven; his aunt Ruth; and his parents-in-law, Carl and Sara Carcioppolo.

He is survived by: his wife Jane; his children, Dan (Alexa Doutt), Matt and Kelly Puleo (Mike); his grandchildren, Salina Jane Zippay and Baby Puleo; his siblings, Karen Hume (Ed), Ken (Paula) and Debbie Zippay; his siblings-in-law, Jim, Nancy, Carl, Doreen, Bob, Cindy, Linda, Joe and Cathy Carcioppolo; his godchildren, Ryan Laskowski and Vince T. Carcioppolo; his cousin Mary Velotta; and his friend Mark Mussig.
