He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara; his children, Steve (Margaret) and Theresa Mackanos; his grandchildren, Emily Richmond (Cory) and Erin Mackanos; his sister Joanne Sagal (late Johnny); and his siblings-in-law, Michael Pillar (Kathy) and Carol Szabo (late Ken). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
