He was predeceased by: his children, Michael and Eugenia Chidsey (Jaye); his siblings, Rodene, Lorene Swiger and Issac Hinzman; his parents, Shelby and Majorie; and also Oleta Casteel.

He is survived by: his children, Shela McCarthy (Marty), Shelvie (late Sally) and Wendy Sharrer (John); his grandchildren, Lee Ann Hinzman, Stacy Dillon, Michael Lyons, Christy Harte, Brandon Harte, Ronnie Chidsey, Jessica Chidsey, Jaye Chidsey, Ericka Newberger and Giovanna Sharrer; and his siblings, Irene Frye and Phil Hinzman.
