He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hankins and Ida Hankins (Mays); his wife Merravone Jean Hankins (Davis); his son Gary Hankins; and his siblings, Mildred Stapleton, Avanell Simpson, Marjorie Blair, Dorothy Hardy, Shirley Brown, Ralph and George Hankins.
He is survived by: his sons, Rick Hankins (Carolyn) of Tampa and Gregory Lee Hankins (Kathy) of Havelock; and his stepchildren, Sheila Adkins of Franklin Furnace, Jean Stapleton of Ironton, Ohio, Junie Davis and Terry (Tara) of Indiana.
