He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank, Jr. Gibbs and Alka Ratliff Gibbs; and his brothers, Charles, Raymond and Jimmy.

He is survived by: his wife Pamela S. Bond Gibbs; his children, Candise Gibbs of Ironton, Jenny Gibbs of Ironton and Dan Gibbs (Holly) of Ironton; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Akers, Austin Gibbs and Trace Akers.
