It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Gay Layne of Ironton, Ohio, who passed away on February 21, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Albert Kelley and Rachel Kelley-Stamper (Owens); her husband Howard "Gid" Layne of Ironton; and her siblings, Daisy Stamper, Gary Kelley, Roger Kelley, Danny Kelley and Chester "Ted" Kelley.

She is survived by: her son Andrew Howard "Andy" Layne of Ironton; her grandson Cory Andrew Layne of Ironton; her brothers, Charlie Kelley (Donna) of Pedro and Jeff Kelley (Linda) of Pedro; and her siblings-in-law, Phyllis Kelley of Pedro, Clara Kelley of Kentucky and Tom Stamper of Ironton. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
