It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Nelson of Ironton, Ohio, who passed away on September 9, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Rita departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Rita may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Rita leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Nelson and Eva Jo Hunt Nelson; and her siblings, Roger, Bobby, Mike Nelson and Wanda.
She is survived by: her brothers, Paul Nelson (Edna) and Daniel Nelson. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Phillips Funeral Home (1004 S 7th St, Ironton, OH 45638). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Warneke Cemetery.
