It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frederick Leslie Stokes Sr. of Jackson, Ohio, born in Portsmouth, Ohio, who passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilma and Fred; and his sister Sue. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer and Rick; his former wife Mickey; his sister Pat; his grandchildren, Sophia, Maya, Jonathan and Ty; his children-in-law, Matthew and Barbara; his niece Susan; and his nephews, David, Robert, John, Michael and Jeffrey. He is also survived by many extended family members, close friends, and dear neighbors.

He was a pioneer in the field of environmental engineering, making lasting contributions to his industry and community.
