She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Hommes and Elizabeth Humphreys Hommes; her former husband Vernal Holberg; her husband Oscar Adkins; her daughter Lawana Carter; and her siblings, Betty Petry, Margaret Jones, Danny, Jack, Dean, Wayne and Marion (June Hommes).
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Claytor (Charlie) and Rhonda Bowling (Andy); her grandchildren, Christy Carter, April Porter and Kaylee Dunnavant; and her great grandchildren, Robbie Carter, Cameron Carter, Nate, Brayden, Brynleigh, Axton, Zander Porter, Greyson Zarakas and Olivia Dunnavant. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home (135 Broadway St, Jackson, OH 45640). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at the Fairmount Cemetery (12 Fairmount St, Jackson, OH 45640).
