He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Halter and Bernice Halter (Shafrath). He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Halter (Tatka); his daughters, Kathryn Fortman (Bob), Karen Halter and Kristina Blake (Mark); his grandchildren, Alex, Emma Fortman, Ethan and Connor Blake; and his siblings, Mara Murray (Dan), Jeanie Balawajar, Ken Halter (Barb), Donna Conaway (Rich), Marcie Otto (Dan), Mark Halter (Connie), Maureen Heller (Doug) and Monica Scott (Alan).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Paquelet Funeral Home (1100 Wales Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646). A Mass will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Divine Mercy Parish (206 Cherry Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646).
Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, St. Mary's, in memory of Jim Halter.
