It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Mahley of Jackson, Ohio, born in Harrison, Ohio, who passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roland Albert Diller and Lillian Gertrude Wright Diller; her husband Terry E. Mahley; and her sisters, Wanda Lewis, Janet Hickson and Norma Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marcia Shumate (Mitchell) of Jackson and Melanie Purtee (Steve Green) of Portsmouth; her grandchildren, Storm France (Kimberly), Ashton Hall (Nate), Natalie Fowler, Emily Shumate, Andrew Shumate, Mary Grace Shumate and Olivia Shumate; her great grandchildren, Caroline and Elliott; and her siblings, Nancy Donahue, Vickie McGinnis (Butch) and Jim Diller. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special close friends.
It was Joan's request that in lieu of flowers, please purchase or donate a coat or pair of shoes for a child in need.
