She was predeceased by: her mother Leona Wallin; her son Wyatt Gillum; and her sister Kimberly Frazier. She is survived by: her father Bill Rhyne; her husband Bryan Carter; her children, Russell Gillum, Trever Gillum, Chad Gillum and Tera Carter; and her siblings, Josh Rhyne, Matthew Rhyne and Kathy Trumps. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren.

“Kris was 1 of my first friends after moving to Jackson and quickly became my sister. We were extremely lucky to have moved in next door and get to know Kris and Bryan and spent lots of time together becoming 1 big crazy family. She was quick to help with our kids and became "Aunt Kris". Kris will be missed by all of our family and the loss of her leaves a deep scar in all of our lives. Rest in Peace my sister from another mister.”
