He was predeceased by: his parents, Olin S. Lanier and Evelyn Virginia Henry Lanier; his wife Peggy Jane Lanier; his brother Garland Lanier (Sonny); and his brothers-in-law, Harry Edward Smith, Richard Brown and Dale Wickline.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Lanier (Sherrie) of Jackson and Stefanie Morrow (John) of Dublin; his grandchildren, Hannah Morrow and Josh Morrow (Sophie); his great grandchild Jett Morrow; his sister Sharon Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Susie Lanier, Marilyn "Sis" Brown, Nancy "Nan" Wickline, Harold "Puck" Rowe, Joseph "Rog" Rowe (Connie), Dianne "Dude" Moore (Jimmie), Frank "Goose" McGhee, Louise Watkins Nothstine, JoAnn McGhee and Janet Rowe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
