He was predeceased by: his parents, Russel Smith and Zona Smith; his wife Pamela Louise Hammond Smith; his son-in-law Johnny Orender Jr.; and his in-laws, Bodine Rader (Gary), Berneta "Minnie", Raymond "Shorty" Fout, Richard Smith (Brenda), Fred Richards, Larry Conkle and Danny Griffiths.

He is survived by: his children, Randey L. Smith (Kimberley), Shannan S. Orender and Andrea L. Davis (Ronald Duncan); his grandchildren, Tara Fenwick, Nick Smith, Jaimi Orender (Bradley Wills), Devin Orender (Mariah Stacey), Adrianna Wolford (Cain) and Audrey Tribby (Blake); his great grandchildren, Levi, Bradley, Audrey, Lydia, Piper and Anakin; and his siblings, Brenda Joyce Richards, Bernadine Conkle, Sidney Smith (Linda), Beverley Griffiths and Rick Smith (Jan). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home (135 Broadway St, Jackson, OH 45640). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
