He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Kinney and Miriam Giffin Kinney; and his brothers, Joe Kinney and Bob Kinney. He is survived by : his nephew Jonathan Kinney; his wife Dyann Detling Kinney; his children, Jerrod Kinney (Kaitlin) of Malaga, Jordan Kinney (Cara McBruney) of Bethesda and Ryan Kemp of Jerusalem; his grandchildren, Brody, Aliza and Malone; and his siblings, Donna Baker (Joe) of Somerton, Cecil Kinney (Kaylan Isaly) of Beallsville, Patti McPherson (Michael) of Parkersburg and Brian "BJ" Kinney (Nicole) of Jerusalem. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home - Harper Chapel (52728 Ohio Ave, Beallsville, OH 43716). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
