Karen B McIlhargie Obituary
Karen B. McIlhargie, age 75, of Johnstown, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born on December 9, 1949, in Salem, Ohio to the late Sherman and Evelyn Wherry.
Karen was a proud graduate of Trumbull Memorial School of Nursing, as a registered nurse. She worked as a private duty nurse for several years prior to changing career. Karen spent more than 20 years with Hallmark, working as both a district and store manager.
She married Glenn McIlhargie in 1972 and began their life together in Columbus. They were united in love, in life, and now together in eternal rest.
Karen is survived by her loving daughters, Katrina (Martin) Russo and Kristina (Ryan) Leven; grandchildren, Maria Russo, and Conner and Nora Leven; sisters, Brenda (Duane) Metz of Mineral Ridge, OH, and Sheila Hawk of Lisbon, OH; brothers, Virgil (Janie) Wherry of Lisbon, OH, and David (Lynne) Wherry of Ashland, Virginia; sister-in-law, Sherri Wherry-Egli of Homeworth, OH; brother-in-law, Dale (Sue Ann) McIlhargie of Reynoldsburg, OH; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in passing by her beloved husband of 38 years, Glenn McIlhargie; parents-in-law, Sylvan and Margaret McIlhargie; brothers, Russell and Clyde Wherry; brother-in-law, Skip Hawk; and sister-in-law, Marianne Wherry.
A gathering for friends and family will be held graveside at 11:30 am to 12:00 pm Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 E Main St, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. A graveside service is to immediately follow, with Pastor Calvin Alexander officiating.
