With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Alice A. Hurd (Kent, Ohio), born in Akron, Ohio, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Hausch and Josephine Hausch (Goodall); and her husband John W. "Jack" Hurd. She is survived by: her children, Sally Dean (Bob) of Kent, Julie Schmidt (Eric) of Kent and John W. Hurd Jr. of Stow; her grandchildren, Jocelyn Schmidt (Justin Schaefer), Luke Schmidt (Tess Ottinger), Abby Dean, Ryan Dean, Kyle Schmidt and Dylan Schmidt; her brother Jack Hausch of Akron; her sibling's children, Michael Hausch (Kathy) and Cheryl Hopkins; and her in-laws, Herbert Hurd (Lorna), Nancy Doremus (Chuck), Linda Harvey (Larry), Pat Hurd and Chari Hurd.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bissler & Sons Funeral Home (628 W Main St, Kent, OH 44240). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church of Kent (1435 E Main St, Kent, OH 44240).
