Jerry Fiala Obituary

We bid farewell to Jerry Fiala of Kent, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 30, 2025 at the age of 82. Jerry touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Joseph Fiala and Emily Fiala; and his brother Joseph Fiala. He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue; his children, Valerie Baranowski (Steven) and C. Thomas Fiala (Jennifer Toth); his grandchildren, Casey Greenwald, Andrew Greenwald, Noah Greenwald, Jacob Fiala, Reagan Toth, Simon Toth, Daniel Baranowski, Brian Baranowski and Baylee Baranowski; and his sisters, Mana Nose and Dorothy Klem (George). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bissler and Sons Funeral Home (628 W Main St, Kent, OH 44240). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (313 N Depeyster St, Kent, OH 44240).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jerry's honor to Kent Police Department, Kent Lion's Club, Kent Social Services, or any other local organizations and causes he faithfully supported.
