He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Slaven and Ruth Slaven (Downey); and his brothers, Robert, William and Michael.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Slaven; his children, Mark Slaven, Matthew Slaven and Julie Carlson; and his brother Richard Slaven (Linda). He is also survived by his four grandchildren.
