He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Groves and Nina Groves; his wife Terri; his son Cody; and his brother Jeff.

He is survived by: his children, Rochelle Groves of Kent, Tera Dearstine (Kevin) of Hudson and Ryan Groves of Columbus; his grandchildren, Jordyn Groves (Stefan Mitov), Rylyn Dearstine, Gabriel Groves, Madelyn Dearstine, Selena Groves and Nathan Groves; his great grandchildren, Terynn and Ashtyn; his sisters, Nadine Hicks, Sharon Workman and Sandra Taylor; and his close friend Marjie Bryant.
