He was predeceased by: his parents, James Austin and Regina Austin (Sell); his wife Melissa Austin (Taylor); his children, Nichlous Austin and Christopher Austin; and his siblings, Billy Lee Austin and Janice Piercy.

He is survived by: his children, Heather Fuller of Enon and James Eric Austin of Dayton; his stepchildren, Jennifer Prater (Ghalib) of Findlay and Charles Prater (Celines Manchego) of Dunkirk; and his siblings, Patricia Austin (Mike Fugate) of Tipp City and John Austin of Dayton. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
