He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosemary Large (Lyon) and James Large Sr.; his sister Rose Ann Large; and his niece Abbey Lowrance. He is survived by: his sister Betty "Crickett" Breece of Bluffton; and his nephew Lakota Breece of Kenton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in James' honor may be made to Heartland Hospice of Marion.
