He was predeceased by: his parents, E. J. Rhoades and Lucille Rhoades (Kruse); his spouse Beverly Mabrey; his siblings, Jerry L. Rhoades and JoJean Emans; and his stepdaughter Laura Mabrey.
He is survived by: his children, Tony Rhoades (Bobbi) of Forest, Todd Rhoades (Nicole) of Sacramento and Cheryl Sorgen (Scott) of Kenton; his stepchildren, Tim Mabrey and Pam Lightner (Mabrey); his grandchildren, Wade Rhoades (Andi) of Florida, Dylan Rhoades of Sacramento and Haley Thompson (Dustin) of Kenton; and his great grandchild Connor Thompson of Kenton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in James's honor may be made to the Hardin Hills Activity Fund.
