He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harpel and Sarah Harpel (Shields). He is survived by: his children, Tara Harpel of McGuffey, Seona Harpel of Kenton and Mitchell Harpel of Foraker; his siblings, Wanda Dermeyer (Steve) of Michigan, Sherry Morris of Bucyrus and Mick Harpel (Becky) of Findlay; and his grandchildren, Damien Nichols, Gauge Bailey and Anavrin Harpel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Price McElroy Funeral Home (123 N Main St, Kenton, OH 43326). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations in Jim's honor may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association for Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease (CMT).
