He was predeceased by: his parents, Verland Shaffer and Anna Shaffer (Sloan); his aunt Hazel Shaffer; his father-in-law Fred Pich; and his brother-in-law Brent Ommert.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Shaffer (Ommert); his daughter Amber Shaffer of Kenton; his mother-in-law Louella Jean Pich; his sister Brenda; his brother-in-law Mark Wilson; and his aunt Phyllis Vermillion of Kenton.
