He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond C. Hites and Estella C. Hites (Black); his close friend Brenda Bostater; his daughters, Vickie Offenbacher-Ownes and Lisa Offenbacher; and his brother Michael R. Hites.
He is survived by: his children, Jacqueline McCarthy (Joshua) of Ridgeway and Richard Hites Chapman (Sharon) of Marion; his sister Barbara Scott (William Newman) of Kenton; and his grandsons, Carter and Caleb McCarthy. He is also survived by several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In honor of Steven, memorial donations may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home.
