He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Mellor and Laura Mellor Sr. (Hawkins); his wife Marilyn Carpenter; and his siblings, John, Glenn, Freddie, Edgar, Asa, Ruth, Helen, Ada and Alice.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Mellor (Diane), Deanne Twining (Mark) and Douglas Mellor; his grandsons, Jared Mellor (Brittney), Jeff Mellor (Carly) and Steven Mellor (Catie); and his great grandchildren, Owen and Violet Mellor.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Killbuck Fire Department or to the Killbuck Church of Christ.
