We are sad to announce that on August 1, 2025, at the age of 87, Sylvia Simms of Kimbolton, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Sylvia may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Luther Sharier and Elizabeth Jane; and her husband Howard Franklin Simms. She is survived by: her children, Howard Simms, Bonnita McCoun (Mark), Bertie Shaw (Leonard) and Margarett Edwards. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Addy Funeral Home (406 W State St, Newcomerstown, OH 43832). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
