She was predeceased by : her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Caroline P. Valentine Sr. (Brown); her daughter Joya S. Watson; and her siblings, Benjamin F. Valentine Jr., James W. Valentine, Phillip E. Valentine, Emma Nelson and Nancy Valentine.

She is survived by : her husband William H. Viney Jr.; and her children, William H. Viney III (Tina), James M. Viney (Lynn), Norma J. "Jeannie" Gause (Levi) and Paul A. Viney. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other special family members and friends.
