He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Garrett and Arbilla Garrett (Ciders). He is survived by: his stepdaughter Teri Link (Christopher Pettiford) of Westerville; his grandson Christopher Pettiford Jr.; and his brother Lloyd Garrett. He is also survived by family members and friends.
