He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Dirmeyer and Violet Dirmeyer (Kenton); his wife Kathleen Kay Dirmeyer; his great grandchild Hayden Glasco; his siblings, Rose Mewhorter (Donna Dirmeyer), Dennis Dirmeyer and Randy Dirmeyer; and his siblings-in-law, Marion Lawrence, Dale Yaney, Charles Yaney and Rita Yaney.
He is survived by: his children, Charles E. Smith, Stephen Smith (LeAnn), Robert William Bill Smith (Mary) and Deborah Kirkendall (Rick); his grandchildren, Brandt Smith, Jenna Smith, Eric Smith, Brianna Dicke (Mike), Trevin Hirsch, Paige Kiley (David), Gracie Carmean (Shawn), Allison Dirmeyer, Kayla Wood, Cody Ryan Wood (Amanda) and Chase Wood (Alicia); his great grandchildren, Eli, Aurora, Everly, Jensen, Kenly, Maxton, Benji, Aubrey, Gideon, Rhyett and Remi; his siblings, Madonna Lawrence, Jean Dirmeyer, Paula Dirmeyer, Richard Dirmeyer and Jeff Dirmeyer (Connie); and his brother-in-law Stephen Yaney.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the LaFayette Congregational Christian Church (205 W Main St, Lafayette, OH 45854).
