He is survived by: his sons, Edward Oates (Rosemary) of Lakeview and Tony Oates of Findlay; his siblings, Barb Shriver of Florida, Nancy Meyer of Arizona, Sharon Oates of Findlay and Denny Oates of Florida; and his stepbrother Charlie Durain of Findlay. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
