He was predeceased by: his parents, Kalmon C. Gronas and Helen V. Solomon (King); his children, Deborah Schoonover and Donald Gronas; his brothers, Michael Daniels and Joseph Gronas; and his wife Barb Long of John's Church.

He is survived by: his children, Dennis Gronas (Becky) of Lima, Diann Canavan (Kevin) of Lima and Denise Hall (Jerry) of Uniopolis, OH; his brother Robert Daniels (Sharon) of Lima; and his son-in-law Mike Schoonover of Lima. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
