With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert D. Strayer of Lakeview, Ohio, born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, who passed away on February 2, 2024 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Herbert Bates and Betty Ganson Strayer; his son Jon Hardy; and his stepfather Donald Strayer. He is survived by : his children, Lori Gibbins of Florida, John Wiley of Florida, Mary Strayer of Florida, Bobbi Strayer of Florida and Jason Hardy (Anne) of Lake Stevens, WA; his daughter-in-law Bridgett Hardy of Bellefontaine; his grandchildren, Caleb Strayer, Jenna Strayer, Joseph Hunter, Nate Hardy, Lane Howard, JT Hardy, Rose Hardy and Esther Shattuck; and his siblings, Donald Strayer (Julie) of Hocking Hills, OH, Anita Clemons of Alger, OH and Michelle Rook of St. Paris, OH..

“So sorry to learn of Bob’s passing, and wish there was something I could do or say to ease your heartache. Our meeting was by chance, and only saw each other at Greene Trails Classic, where there were a lot of laughs. We have stayed in touch through ‘the computer’. I will miss him and think of him always.
