He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip R. Dowdy and Rose L. Dowdy (Boggs); his wife Margaret M. Loraditch Dowdy; his son Patrick Dowdy; and his brother Donald Dowdy.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory A. Dowdy and Julia A. Dowdy Hutchison (Timothy); his grandchildren, Jason R. Hutchison (Alexis) and Jennifer M. Hutchison Stevens (Tyler); his great grandchildren, Russell of Elijah, Lainey Hutchison, Lucas and Parker Stevens; his daughter-in-law Wendy Dowdy; his siblings, James Dowdy, Mark Dowdy (Joni Baker), Jeffrey Dowdy, Phyllis Ruff, Mary Lou Raymond (Timothy) and Martha Strangis (John); and his siblings-in-law, Edward Loraditch, Mary Loraditch, Sharon Loraditch and Judy Loraditch (Elliott). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sheridan Funeral Home (222 S Columbus St, Lancaster, OH 43130). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairhope Hospice and Palliative Care, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, OH 43130.
