He is survived by: his wife Shirley Sims (Smith); his children, Kristin Strong of Springfield, Karin Howard (Thomas) of Lancaster, Laura Lea Sims of Peoria and Nathan Kessler Sims of Columbus, Ohio; his grandchildren, Ian Howard (Andrea), Brenna Habib (Bishoy), Austin Howard, Owyn Howard (Julia), Schyler Strong and Oscar DeBolt-Sims; and his siblings, Byron Sims, Larry Sims (Rethia) and Mary K. Perkins (William). He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
