She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis "Frank" Aloysius and Marian E. Emmert; her husband John W. Swinehart; her sister Fran; her siblings-in-law, Paul Isaacs and Vicki Emmert; her grandson Conrad Miller; and her son-in-law Bart Miller.

She is survived by: her children, Daphne Miller of St. Bernard, Douglas Keister (Toni) of New York, Wendy Painter of Lancaster and Matthew Keister (Staci Cain) of Thornville; her stepdaughters, Lisa Bennion (Dave) of Portugal and Christy Gutridge (Rodney) of Thornville; her grandchildren, Narcissa Zeek (Marcus), Terri Rivers, Regina Olley (Dell), Amanda Bova (Nick), Makayla Lynn Keister, Makenzie Wooten (Conner), Catherine Lueckel (Justin), Seth Painter, Scottie Painter (Rachael Wylie), Corey Keister, Keven Keister (Freedom), Nicholas Metzger, Holly Lash, Charlee and Christopher Gutridge; her great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Carter, Kennedy Zeek, Charlotte, Crue, Chance Miller, Aria, Zoe, Liliana, Sylvie Bova, Caroline Wooten, Brittany Olley, Kylie Olmedo-Orea (Miguel), Paige Olley, Zachary Sefcik, Gabriel, Madelyn Lueckel, Mallory, Aubree, Paulette Painter, Brody, Bailee, Harper Painter, Kael, Farrah and Nakoa Keister; her great great grandchildren, Chloe, MaryLeigh and Violet; her brother Edward A. Emmert of Hebron; and her aunt Julia Allan of New Lexington. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Diana's name to The Lighthouse (Domestic Violence Shelter of Fairfield County).
